Going Green - Have you considered making the alternative energy and consumer lifestyle change

Everywhere we turn there are signs that our society is switching gears in terms of the way that we are treating our planet. You cannot open a magazine, newspaper or turn on the TV without seeing or hearing the phrase "Going Green." So what exactly does "Going Green" mean to us as everyday citizens and how can we start to practice this new lifestyle in our everyday lives?
My first suggestion would be to start slow. Start small with everyday things like sharing rides to work, walking or riding your bike to lower how much fuel you are consuming and lower your contribution to air pollution. Change the light bulbs in your home to the smaller fluorescent bulbs. Regular light bulbs can really increase your monthly bills and the newer ones will last a lot longer. This adds up to big savings for you over time.
Another approach is to do a little maintenance around the house. Start caulking any gaps around the doors and windows and seal up any opening. This will help keep out drafts that cost you money.
Another big tip is if you want to spend a little money - insulate, insulate, insulate! You will always make your money back on insulation. Having a well insulated home cuts down on those high energy cost in the wintertime. The more insulation, the less your furnace or heater will turn off and on costing you less.
One thing I hadn't thought much about before was my appliances until my washer started to go crazy. If you have older appliances, they are probably eating your lunch in energy. It's true! I couldn't believe how much difference there was just in the ten years difference since I had bought my old one. You will actually save enough on your monthly bills over time to pay for a new energy efficient appliance. So if your spouse has been complaining about that old frig or washer, surprise them and replace it for them and save some money. (hint hint honey)
Of course, one of the most obvious "Going Green" changes that most of us have been exposed to since we were young is recycling. The bonus is that many vendors and manufacturers are making it easy for us. Watch for the recycling emblem when purchasing products. Buy more than one trash can so that you can separate out your paper, metal, glass and plastic.
These are all excellent ideas that you can utilize to start your "Going Green" lifestyle. Should you decide to pursue even bigger ideas' there are many resources and a large amount of information available.
I started researching "Green Energy" and Home Alternate Energy as a way to save money on my electric bill. The result has been a driven need for more information and perhaps a way to indulge my passion to learn to market on the internet.
I also have a passion for my dogs Maddie and Rodeo and love to use my background in the pet industry to share information with you. Check out the following site for healthy dog food information.

Making an Alternative Energy System that Works

The things causing a big buzz right now are alternative energy systems. It seems like everyone wants to have their own way to get renewable energy so that they can stop depending on electrical companies. Energy resources are valuable things and people seem to take this too lightly - you're not just saving money by switching to an alternative energy source - you're also helping to save the planet.
I'm sure most people know about the two main energy resources that are being applied by many home owners:
- Wind energy. Simply taking a windmill and using it to generate enough power to run many appliances in your home can save you a LOT of money.
- Solar energy. This is my personal favorite, all you have to do is set up a few materials that absorb sunlight and you can turn it into electricity.
Both of these options work extremely well and either can be used to power your house and save a ton of money. Just imagine combining them. You could use wind power to run all of your appliances and use solar power to keep everything else like lights, computers, tvs, etc going. The potential of these alternative energy sources is absolutely staggering. Unfortunately you still can't make use of tidal energy unless you live on the ocean and have a LOT of money - maybe one day we'll be able to use it for personal power.
Hopefully you already know that you need to switch to an alternative energy system eventually - don't keep killing the planet and wasting money just because you're too lazy! It's the time to take action and change the way your house runs - for the better.
Are you ready to save money and start making a difference [http://www.alternativeengeryprojects.info/]? Get started by transforming your home to run on solar power, wind power, or even BOTH by going to this website: Earth 4 Life [http://www.alternativeengeryprojects.info/]. Please don't delay, your wallet - nay, the PLANET depends on it!

Renewable Alternative Energy to Save Money

Renewable sources of energy use and building solar panels is not surprisingly on the rise between a population that feels the bite of two world crisis going on hand by hand; the energy crisis and the financial crisis. Just take a look at your power bill and then at your pocket. One is continuously showing higher amounts while the other lower. In both cases, demand is totally overpowering supply leaving the average consumer with an ever wider gap between power bill expenses and available income.
The world is running short on conventional power supplies, like oil and gas and has not taken the necessary steps to prevent this unbalanced state or the deterioration of the environment. In many cases it is the common people that are investigating renewable alternative energy sources and implementing available technology in order to save energy, money and the planet.
Besides making conscious changes in their habits and routines at home when using power and water many are contemplating an innovative approach to saving. They understand that the actual source of non renewable energy they are currently using is running dry and drying their thin wallets in the process. It is an ongoing reality that has to be terminated, and that's why many are taking a closer look at renewable sources of energy and finding a cost effective solution.
Renewable alternative energy solutions offer both, the advantages of saving money and the environment. They don't become depleted by use, are in natural abundance around us and environmentally friendly.
The three major renewable energy sources are sun, wind and water. They could be categorized in three types of solutions: solar energy, wind energy and hydro energy. These energy sources not only offer a savings solution to the general economy and the individual pocket, but also many benefits and advantages over conventional non renewable energy sources.
Solar energy when used with today's advanced technology becomes a reliable source of heat and light, and capable of creating other forms of energy. It is ready available and for free. Nobody needs to be convinced of its abundance and the lack of a controlled human monopoly. Its use will definitely facilitate big savings on the power bills and have a say in a greener environment.
There are really easy and inexpensive applicable solar solutions for any household. Several applications are available for home lighting, heating system, cooking, etc. A popular solution is the charging and storage of solar energy into solar cells. It is amazingly simple to do and it is accomplished by building solar panels. A solar home lighting system will put an end to the electricity bills, and a smile of satisfaction in the home owner's face, when the lights are on during the night and the power company has nothing to do with it. For heating solutions a solar power system is an investment that pays entirely for itself in no time, and after that it will continue to give the service and advantages for free. For people spending a lot of time in the kitchen, image a cooking device that does not use any fuel for cooking despite the fact of being able to boil, roast and bake for several people.
Wind power solutions are more appropriate for buildings, mansions or farmhouses. Free pollution wind power systems are based on equipment commonly known as wind turbines, wind mills and wind generators.
Water power solutions are applicable when hydro energy is converted to run different kind of vehicles and some electrical appliances.
All these renewable sources of energy will permit the average person to reduce the ever increasing cost of living, and reduce or totally eliminate utility bills.
Renewable alternative energy offers an option to high electricity bills and assists at fighting power outages. Start building solar panels and contribute to a greener environment and a better future for the next generations.

Alternative Energy and it's significance in our lives

Alternative energy means the production of energy or electricity by using any alternative source such as water, sun, heat etc. These alternative sources do not have any side effects on the environment but are helping humans to save their money. Only such sources of generating alternative energy are selected which may not damage the environment.
Significance of Alternative Energy
It has much significance. You can generate power with very low prices and do not have to pay expensive electricity bills anymore. Another significance, is that you can generate power at home. Whether you have read physics or not, you can still generate power by using alternative sources.
Sources of Alternative Energy
I. Solar Power
Solar power is obtained by converting sun light into electricity or hot water.
How does Alternative Energy produce power from it?
The cells which are made up of silicon are used for this purpose. When cells having silicon are exposed to sunlight, they automatically produce electricity. If you want to utilize by solar power, place cells on such places where they may receive maximum amount of sun light. Open roofs are the best places for replacing these cells. Cells will get excess amount of sun energy directly there.
II. Hydro Power
Hydro means water and hydro power means generation of power from water turbines.
How does Alternative Energy produce from it?
Small water turbines are made for generating hydro power. Water turbines are set into flowing stream of water. Then hydro power is automatically generated in the streams of water.
III. Wind Power
Wind power means generation of power by using wind.
How does Alternative Energy produce from it?
Special turbines are designed which can store wind power and are capable of generating wind power. Such turbines are set at the top of tall towers. Turbines on a tall tower generate power kinetically by using wind.
IV. Ethanol and Biodiesel
Ethanol is used as alternative of gasoline while biodiesel is an alternative fuel of petroleum diesel. They can be used in all such vehicles where gasoline, petroleum and diesel are used. They do not affect vehicles or their speed but help you to save your money by stop paying high prices of petroleum and diesel.
Reasons behind the use of Alternative Energy
There are several reasons which insisted people to search for alternative sources of energy. All countries of the world are facing problems like shortage of fuels and gases. Their shortage increased their prices. When there was no stability in the prices, people started looking for alternative sources of energy. The high prices of gases and fuels could not solve their shortage problem but lessen their demand.
People prefer to use alternative sources of energy now instead of using expensive fuels and gases. Another reason behind the use of alternative energy is that people can neither afford nor want to pay expensive charges of electricity. The prices of electricity are too unstable and keep on rising. Therefore, people prefer to use alternative sources now.

Money Talks and Solar Walks

Solar energy or power is the focus of the search for cheap alternative energy as we try to reduce our dependence on, and reduce the effects of, fossil fuels. Using solar power as a means of creating a cheaper alternative to our current energy sources is based upon the following principles.
1. Unlike our finite resources of fossil fuels, solar energy is an infinite and renewable energy source.
2. There are no harmful emissions.
3. The harnessing of solar energy greatly reduces the very significant usage of water that is typical of using coal, nuclear and combined energy sources.
4. After the initial expenditure involved with the installation of a solar powered source of energy, plus some maintenance costs, it is to all intents and purposes free.
Advocates of using solar energy have always faced two major difficulties with promoting this possible form of cheap alternative energy. Currently it is not in real terms a cheap alternative. Inefficiencies and the expenditure involved in the initial set up costs means that solar energy is still viewed by the majority as a fringe source of energy.
However great strides have been made in the search for greater efficiencies in the use of solar power. Recently a group of U.S. scientists set a world record in solar cell efficiency by transforming almost 41% of captured light into energy.
Whilst this is obviously good news in the long term it is not enough to see solar power gain worldwide acceptance as being a viable alternative energy source. The determining factor as always will be costs. Until the stage is reached where this form of energy is accessible to the majority of people it is never going to be an alternative energy let alone our main source.
It all boils down to finances and in a world of financial turmoil it is nearly always research and development that feels the swiftest and sharpest financial cutbacks. Research and development is the only way that solar energy is ever going to reach the stage that it is available to the masses. The masses will only be able to avail of it if it is a cheap alternative.
This is the vicious circle that solar energy and its proponents are caught in. Until the stage is reached where we achieve greater efficiencies in the use of this energy and the production of the units' solar power will not be a cheap alternative.
In recent times of economic boom the emphasis shifted from looking at cheap alternatives and fossil fuels strengthened their position of dominance. If sufficient strides and financing did not occur during times of prosperity it is highly unlikely to occur during an economic slump.
Local and national support for promoting solar energy as a cheap alternative energy source is unlikely to be enough to see this idea lighting up our world. If this form of energy is ever going to reach the stage of being a cheap alternative it needs worldwide collaboration and a long term strategy. Have we seen the light?
